Manchester Airport is expecting to see a doubling of passenger numbers to 50 million a year by 2030 - and for employers on the site that's going to mean thousands of new jobs to fill. The airport's expansion plan suggests that 22,000 jobs could be created over the next twenty-five years, and filling them will be essential to the economic success and survival of the companies involved.
The Airport Academy is partnership of Manchester Airport and Training providers to assist unemployed residents to apply for vacancies with Manchester Airport employers.
Supported by Government funding, the Academy offers employers a free recruitment service to fill vacancies in a range of job roles such as cleaning, catering, security, hotel work and retail. The Airport Academy commits to engaging with groups of potential employees and assisting them via a short employability course. The Airport employers commit to interviews upon completion of the course by candidates.
